Blackie #2 Labrador Retriever Young Male for sale in Annapolis, Maryland

My story
BLACKIE is a 1.5-year-old neutered male black lab. Blackie weighs 52 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.DESCRIPTION Blackie was surrendered to the shelter when he showed interest in the owners chickens. The shelter feel that the owner put too high of expectations on him. He was adopted form another shelter but the owner signed him over to a different shelter. From transporter- Blackie is a very sweet boy that rode well and was very friendly along the way. He is good with other dogs. He had a great time playing with one of the other pups at the kennel. Owners claimed he has a prey drive so uncertain how he would do with cats. UPDATE: Blackie is a high-energy pup and likes to go-go-go! Blackie needs a couple of long walks each day, as well as the opportunity to run either with his human or some dog-on-dog play in the yard or with other dogs at doggy daycare. He is crate-trained and almost house-trained. Blackie is a bit skittish with some new stuff at his foster's apartment home, such as the elevator, loading dock and stairwells and will need patience to learn about new things. He barks briefly when crated in the morning, but does not react to traffic. Blackie loves saying hi to anyone that passes by and lets them pet him without any problems. With other dogs he is a bit shy, but shows no signs of aggression to either dogs or people. He loves stopping and smelling the flowers during his walks! UPDATE: Blackie enjoys playdates with a neighbor pup a couple of times each week - he loves to burn off his energy! He does well with other dogs he runs into on walks, as well. Blackie rarely barks unless he hears a strange noise in the hallway, but he does respond nervously to sudden noises of cars, trucks and buses. He would prefer a quieter household and neighborhood where he can relax and enjoy life! This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP.
