Frannie's story
FRANNIE is a 1.5-year-old spayed female chocolate lab. Frannie weighs 43 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.
DESCRIPTION Frannie is a very friendly pup with both humans and other dogs. She is a very playful dog who likes her toys and loves to retrieve. She has a gentle mouth as she took treats gently. Frannie appears to be very smart and wants to please everyone. She is great with other dogs. She knows sit, down and come, but pulls a little on the leash. Frannie is crate trained working on house training. Frannie was an owner give up to the shelter as the county just brought in a law that doesn't allow dogs to be out on chains for more than an hour at a time. Owner didn't believe dogs belong inside so turned her in. Frannie is very happy about this. Frannie has been doing great at the kennel but would like to go to her own home. She has been out playing with Bama and the two of them get along well. Bama is a little faster so ends up with the toys unless Frannie steals one from him Watch them at:

I picked up Frannie this morning from the vet. She rode great in the back seat for the 30 minute drive home. She has the most gentle mouth and is very focused on you when you are holding treats. She knows sit and seems to also know stay. This girl LOVES toys! After a few hours she was walking around the house holding a toy or sprawled out on the dog bed surrounded my toys. She has been accident free and walks into her crate early without a peep. A few friends stopped by and Frannie was very excited to meet all of them and give them lots of love. Today I brushed her and gave her a bath and she was a perfect angel! By bedtime she was up on the couch snuggling with my son. Someone is going to be very lucky to adopt this girl.
Adopters must meet these requirements:
Setting: Rural, Suburban
Dwelling: Single Family Home
Fencing: Fence Required
Frannie is from a rural area and has not been exposed to traffic, noise, or groups of people. If dogs are overwhelmed by their environment, they can exhibit behaviors like excessive barking. For now, to avoid this, we are limiting placement to standalone, single family homes in a suburban neighborhood or rural area. After Frannie has been in a foster home for at least a week or two, we will evaluate if placement can be expanded to include a more urban environment and will send out an update.
